If There were no Mobile Phones..

if there were no mobile phones
It is hard to imagine the world around us without mobile phones these days. It has gradually penetrated deep into our lives that we can never avoid it. If we forget our mobile phone at home by mistake, we remain disturbed and feel like having lost some important thing all the daylong. It is no more a status symbol now and is found even in the hands of a donkey-cart-man. It has facilitated our lives to great extent. Mobile phones have not made our life easier but has given us chances to deceive others.
Human life is dotted with sufferings, sorrows as well as pleasures. There are situations when we need badly our close kith and kin at these occasions. In the absence of mobile phone, it was hard to get all the family members together in time. It was the common practice in past the people often could not participate in the most important events of their family. Sons missed the funerals of their mothers due to being unaware of the misfortune or not receiving the news in time due to lack of communication means.
I think in the absence of mobile phones, the department of post office would have flourished and made revolutionary developments. People would not have forgotten the habit of writing letters to their relatives and friends with love and devotion. Instead of sending picture messages people used to post greeting cards to their near and dear ones. The people used to undergo long journeys to convey the important messages.
It proved no more blessings for the husbands who used to spend their evenings with their beloved ones. Lovers owe a great deal to it because they abstain from the fatigue of writing love letters on the small pieces of paper. Sending love letters to their girlfriends was another headache. If mobile phone was not invented, the poor wives remained in miserable plight unaware of the extra-curricular activities of their life partners. They remained habitual of listening the lame excuses from them.
In my opinion, the health of our youth would improve in the absence of mobile phone than it is in the present era. I mean our youth would be able to take enough sleep in the absence of tempting SMS packages. Their fingers would not remain always busy. They would be able to talk and listen attentively to their friends and elders. The ratio of students passing their examination would greatly improve than it is at present. I mean our education system is plundered greatly by this gift of the new era. I feel pity for my poor school-going boys especially the students of secondary classes when they are busy in classrooms on mobile phones wasting their time.
Interestingly, I feel humankind would have been in great difficulty if there were no mobile phones. How people would inform their seniors about their absence from work. Mobile phone has restricted the way of public call office (PCO) business. It was a lucrative profession before the cell phones came in our lives. It proved an element of increasing unemployment in the country. However, cell phones established a great business wider than PCOs.
People would be more sophisticated and good mannered in the absences of cell phones. No one would be able to call anyone at an odd hour like if the receiver is driving or saying his prayers. It has made us more selfish than we were ever before. If someone is not attending our call, we try to force him to do so by calling him repeatedly. Often most of us do not like to give a chance to other person and spit our ill feelings spontaneously. We did not care whether it is the busy hour or resting time. We just pick up the phone start calling our friends. We cannot switch off our cell phones for long as our friends and relatives will be taunting us for that act.
Cell phone has, no doubt revolutionized the telecommunication sector. It is the proof of development and progress of the new era. It has really proved a blessing for humankind, saved his time, made him able to do more things in less time. However, this is also true that the misuse, or I should say excessive use, of anything always have negative impact. We can really enjoy this marvelous invention of science and help to reduce its negative impact if we care a little about its usage. We need to consider the timing we call others and the time we spend sending text messages to others without any purpose only because a facility is available at cheaper price.
