How water is affecting us

benefits of water
In scorching hot summer, a glass of clean and cool water seems the only hope of life. Traveling long when we get no chance to have a shower due to unavailability of water or any other reason, water becomes a very important thing. No doubt, it is the most important, rather, one of the great blessings of Allah Almighty. The scarcity of it in some areas of the world causes terrible famines. The cultivation of crops depends upon water availability. The air and sunlight can clean the dirt but water is the most important for this purpose. Sunlight and air take months but water acts quickly .Our houses can become a place of living only when water is available. Otherwise, they will turn into a source of dirt, garbage and ill smelling. We go to our work every morning wearing clean, shining, and well-pressed dresses, which greatly owe to water. Think deep about the importance of water.
In Second World War, Singapore was well fortified by the English. The British forces proudly termed it invulnerable. Its water supply was totally linked with Malaya, which was conquered by the Japanese. They disconnected the water supply and the British Governor surrendered before the Japanese within few hours. He had to accept a shameful defeat in spite of having large number of weapons and huge quantity of food. It proves that water has been used as a weapon in wars in past.
In the regions with less quantity of water, human life becomes much hard and difficult. People fetch water from far off places. Sometimes animals carry the load. People dig ponds to accumulate rainwater, which they and their animals drink from the same place. In summer when the ponds are dried, the life does not run, rather lingers on in these areas. Their folk songs comprise on the theme of sacristy of water, and the women, young and old, sing in dirge like tones.
The areas with plenty of water do not care for this great blessing. They waste it at large scale. Experts say that a man needs 25 gallons of water daily. It is regretted that people waste this gift of God and do not feel any guilt on it. They do not even think about the people facing scarcity of water.
Water is also a source of satisfaction for the aesthetic sense. The beauty of lake Saif-ul-Mulook is matchless with its transparent water. Water fountains in city parks and other public places are the main source of enjoyment. The rivers, the streams, and the angry waves of oceans are a natural phenomenon that causes delight. However, at the same time, it takes the human life brutally.  Everyone is aware of the casualties done by water in different countries in the form of flood and tsunami. The life including human beings, birds, animals, reptiles is affected with huge water waves. Millions of people die annually in floods, become homeless, and take refuge in relief camps having no facility of life. Thousands of acres of land become barren. The ruining of crops also costs billions. It is a common practice despite taking precautionary measures.
Health experts have an excellent opinion about water. It accelerates the metabolic activities in human body. It causes cognition in human brain. Because it needs more water to get more oxygen. The digestive system of human body is also regulated by water. Water makes us healthy, smart and good looking because it affects our skin. Constipation, the mother of all ailments, is too relieved by it.
Chemical wastes from factories mixed with water greatly contaminates the water ecosystem and causes harm to different forms of life in water. Fish die or are poisoned and are unfit for human use. The vegetables irrigated with this water accumulate poisonous ingredients in them and are a great danger for human health.
This unique thing of nature gives a new life to human beings when used under control and harms a lot when it becomes huge and out of control. It causes green revolution and terrible devastation at the same time. Water is the preserver of life if it is in pure form but a dreadful death in contaminated form. It is a great blessing of God that we should always be thankful for.
